Barrhaven Author Publishes Third Children’s Book
Barrhaven resident, Stefania Allevato, initially wrote Mischief in the Night about 10 years ago as a gift for her young daughter. Mischief in the Night is a fun story, teaching kids about the importance of listening to parents/guardians. Stefania loved the loveable characters and amusing story so much that she hoped to one day publish the book and share it with other children. Despite the passage of time the book’s message is still relevant today. Fast forward to many years later, and she finally got around to dusting off the manuscript and publishing the book. Mischief in the Night is beautifully illustrated by local artist and art teacher, Brooke Alexander.
One hot summer night, which happened to be the night before garbage day, Max and Daphne went out looking for some mischief. While rummaging for food they were making a racket and were almost caught by humans! Mischief in the Night is a fun read containing interesting facts about adorable and mischievous raccoons. It’s aimed for kids between grades 1 – 3.
The book is available for purchase on Amazon as a paperback or for Kindle.
Stefania previously wrote and successfully self-published and marketed two children’s books previous to Mischief in the Night. Her previous books, Everyday Superhero and Headstrong, were inspired by people in Stefania’s life. Everyday Superhero features an eight-year-old girl, Kat, who has cerebral palsy. Headstrong’s main character is a fun-loving girl who has hydrocephalus. Both books are aimed at kids of ALL abilities and are inspirational. These books can be purchased by contacting Stefania.
Writing and publishing have given Stefania the opportunity to meet great people. She welcomes opportunities to read any of her books at schools, group activities, etc. She also welcomes the opportunity to discuss or present about the writing process and self-publishing. Contact Stefania for more information.
