Barrhaven Canada Day Celebrations will be dry – but hot!
Great news! You won’t need a canoe this year to get to the Barrhaven Canada Day Celebrations!
But you might want to pack some sunscreen and any else you need to beat the heat – environment Canada is calling for an “extreme heat event” this weekend that could prove taxing for many people – especially if humidity levels kick into overdrive. The forecast high for Sunday is 36 degrees – but when you factor in the humidity, it could feel more like 47 degrees. The good news is that the possibility of precipitation remains at a low 20 percent.
For those of you attending the celebrations this year, amazing volunteers have put together a great few days of fun, thrills and great entertainment – not to mention an amazing fireworks display!
The event is being held at Clarke Fields Park, which is located at 93 Houlahan Rd, near the intersection of Tartan Drive.
The fun all starts on Thursday the 28th which is when the Homeniuk Midway starts operating. Rides start at noon and continue non-stop until 10:30pm.
Canada Day celebrations kick-off a few days later on July 1st with a Community Seniors Breakfast sponsored by Viva Retirement.
For the balance of the day, you can ride the midway, catch local entertainment acts on three stages, take the young ones to the Kidz Zone and browse the many food and artizans vendors. So much to do – so little time!
Top entertainment acts take to the main stage at 4:30pm. The lineup includes Steph La Rochelle, Kelsey Hayes and the always fun and entertaining Disco Inferno!
The festivities wind down with what is always an amazing fireworks show at 10:00pm.
Many local volunteers and sponsors work hard all year to help bring this amazing event to Barrhaven. If you wish to show your appreciation for their efforts, you can make a donation to the event via the Barrhaven Canada Day Go Fund Me Page.
