Paramount Middle Eastern Kitchen Brings its Famous Lebanese Cuisine to Barrhaven

Today was a special day. Not only did I enjoy one of the most flavourful meals I’ve ever had in Barrhaven, but it also happened to be one of my favourite ethnic foods – Lebanese cuisine.

I happen to be very picky when it comes to Mediterranean cuisine. Our family actually drives across town to the NJAIM Mid-East Food Centre at least twice a month for fresh kafta, maanick and shish tawouk. It’s well worth the commute; when prepared correctly, middle eastern cuisine is one of the most delicious types of food you can enjoy. It also happens to be pretty healthy.

Which brings us to Barrhaven’s newest restaurant, Paramount Middle Eastern Kitchen.

The restaurant is located across from Loblaws, right next to Meridian Bank. It features lots of parking and even a bike rack for those who prefer a healthier commute.

Our dining experience at Paramount hit all the right notes. A beautiful decor, amazing food and uber-friendly service.

The restaurant features a novel dining experience. Each table is assigned a unique number. You simply select a table, walk up to the order counter, provide your table number and order, then wait for your server to deliver your meal. It’s a hybrid type of dining experience that works surprisingly well. From reception to dessert, the service was prompt, timely and incredibly friendly.

What sets this restaurant apart is the quality of the food. The menu is expansive and features many middle eastern classics. The food is incredibly fresh with a surprisingly innovative presentation. Every bite conveys an array of authentic middle eastern flavours that hit just the right balance. Along with Fairouz on Somerset street, it’s honestly one of the best Mediterranean dining experiences I’ve ever had in the Ottawa area and easily one of the most flavourful restaurants in Barrhaven.

The Paramount menu was created with care by renowned international chefs using the most authentic Lebanese recipes. Each dish is prepared with the freshest and finest ingredients, including Halal meats.

We should also mention that the restaurant is very family-friendly. It includes a discreet, glass-enclosed children’s playground so that the kids can enjoy some play time while mom and dad relax after their meal. It’s this kind of attention to detail that makes the restaurant a special destination that will have you returning again and again.
