Greenfields is featuring Disco Inferno this Saturday – a show you don’t want to miss!

Let’s face it – Barrhaven is known for many great things, but it’s nightlife isn’t one of them. For a suburb of 80,000+ residents, after hours entertainment venues are in short supply.

We’re a community of young affluent professionals who would embrace a more vibrant arts and culture scene. I’ve written in the past of my desire to see a performance theater (along the lines of Centerpoint Theatre) built in Barrhaven. Such a venue would go a long way in attracting high caliber performers while giving the local economy a nice financial bump.

In today’s post I want to talk about a true Barrhaven institution. A pub that is unquestionably the beating heart of the Barrhaven nightlife scene. A venue that is to entertainment what Jan Harder is to local politics. A family business that is owned and operated by local residents of Barrhaven who truly care about their community.

That establishment is Greenfields Pub.

Greenfields features no less than 18 varieties of beer on tap and a delightful food menu that features many tasty Irish treats. Eat in, or enjoy their amazing patio during the summer months. Greenfields just does everything right.

This weekend, Greenfields has a special treat for Barrhaven residents. On Saturday night, an amazing 10 piece band will grace the stage and belt out two solid hours of the greatest disco and pop hits from the 70’s and 80’s. The band is called Disco Inferno, and they play to rave reviews wherever they go. They take to the stage in authentic 70’s costumes and deliver an incredibly tight set of disco hits that will have you on your feet in no time.

Yes Barrhaven, it’s time to do the time warp again – this is one show you don’t want to miss. And it’s also a great opportunity to visit Greenfields again for the first time if you haven’t been there in a while.
