One World Bazaar Returns for Its 44th Season: A True Celebration of Culture, Craft, and Community
This fall, One World Bazaar invites visitors to once again experience the magic of shopping the globe, right here in Ottawa. Now in its 44th season, the beloved seasonal market will open its doors from mid-September to mid-November , offering weekend experiences filled with handcrafted goods, cultural food, global entertainment, and the stories that connect us.
Held in a historic barn in Manotick Station , One World Bazaar transforms into a vibrant hub where guests can explore unique finds from countries including India, Indonesia, Kenya, Thailand, Mexico, Ecuador, and Peru. The goods range from hand-carved furniture and artisanal decor to jewelry, textiles, and meaningful gifts, with every item carrying the story of a maker and a piece of their culture.
More than a marketplace, One World Bazaar is a celebration of craftsmanship, tradition, and global connection. It’s a space where cultures are honoured, artisans are supported, and customers become part of something bigger with every purchase.
“At its core, the Bazaar is about connection,” says Anneka Bakker, third-generation owner. “Between people, between cultures, and between stories. It’s a place where you can slow down, explore, and shop with purpose, knowing your purchase is supporting the people who made the goods. We shop the world for you, spending over three months abroad each winter working directly with the makers to bring their beautiful handcrafted goods back to Ottawa for a vibrant event.”
Though the business faced a setback last year with the loss of some inventory due to brazen theft, the team focused on community, resilience, and continuing to uplift the artisans. This spirit is woven into every corner of this year’s season.
Each weekend this fall will offer something special, from global cuisine and live music to artisan spotlights and free cultural performances , turning every visit into a mini world tour.
