Barrhaven Canada Day Celebrations – Bigger and Better than ever!
|Barrhaven will be celebrating Canada’s 150th Birthday this year and the party promises to be bigger and better than ever! Lead sponsors Mattamy Homes and the Barrhaven BIA have put together 4 days of amazing activities to help celebrate this important milestone.
The fun kicks off on Thursday, June 29th with the opening of the Homeniuk Midway at 11 am. The midway will stay open for a full 4 days this year, ensuring lots of fun for the kids.
Car buffs are in for a treat on June 30th as a Classic Car Show makes its Canada day debut in Barrhaven at 5 pm. Also, make sure to check out the Human Foosball tournament – always fun to watch. The day comes to a close with some great entertainment on the main stage featuring Southbound Boots, Lemon Cash and the Lionyls.
Canada Day kicks off in style with a Senior’s Pancake Breakfast presented by Viva Barrhaven Retirement Community. This will be followed by lots of activities for our younger residents at the Kidz Zone / Kidz Zone Stage / Kidz Zone Gym.
Barrhaven Canada Day will also feature entertainment that reflects the diversity and multi-cultural fabric that makes our community such a special place to live. Expect to experience art, dance, food, and dress from many local ethnic groups on the Multi-Cultural Stage.
The Canada Day evening celebrations will feature an amazing concert featuring Arms of the Girl, Barrhaven singer/songwriter Rebecca Noelle and a return visit by the popular group Alter Ego. The highlight of the evening will be the 10 pm Fireworks show which promises to be the best one even in Barrhaven!
